File field

To attach a file to the record: an invoice, a photo, a contract.

Setting it up

• Label, Required and Help text, as in any field.
• Accepted types: what kind of files it takes: PDF, images, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, plain text, ZIP, audio or video. With none checked, it takes any.
• Max size (MB): how heavy the file may be. The server also has its own ceiling, which can't be exceeded.

Try it

On this page the file isn't uploaded anywhere: you can pick one and download it, but it isn't kept. In an application, the file is uploaded and stays with the record.

Good to know

Each file keeps its versions: uploading a new one in place of the old one doesn't lose the old one. Who may download files depends on their access to the application.
