This is where you put a form together without coding: add fields, arrange them and decide how each one behaves. The preview on the right shows the form as whoever fills it will see it.
This is a real builder: try it below. Nothing is saved here, so reloading the page starts over.
A form saves records of an entity, and several forms can use the same entity. The Entity tab of the palette shows the fields the entity already has and this form doesn't yet. Adding one, records keep what they already had in that field. If another form shows it too, its properties say so: what you change there changes on all of them.
Besides its label, each field has a Name: it's how Selfform keeps it and how
formulas and conditions call it. It's made from the
label on its own, with no spaces (Unit price becomes unitPrice), and gets a
number if it's taken. You can type it yourself, starting with a letter.
Once you save the page the name stays put, because records keep their data under it. Changing the label later only changes what's shown.
Each time you save changes to a form a version is kept, with the date and who saved it. The Versions button lists them newest first, with what changed in each: fields added, removed or renamed, required or options.
If a record was entered with an earlier version, it says so above the form and lets you see it as it was then. Fields no longer there still show in its history.
To enter records from a fixed tablet, like at a workstation, the Kiosk mode link opens the form on its own, without the menu. Each time it's saved it shows the record was entered and, on Add another or after a few seconds, it's empty again for the next one.
Full screen hides the browser's bar too, and Leave kiosk mode goes back to the regular form. Only whoever may add records sees it, and each record is entered under the account that opened it.
No fields yet. Add one from the palette above.
